When you are hungry, there is nothing quite as satisfying as filling, all-you-can-eat buffets, which – fortunately for South Dakotans – are easy to find throughout the Mount Rushmore State. Sadly, due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, buffets are closed for the health and safety of patrons, which is forcing restaurants and buffets to get a little more creative:
Located inside of Sioux Falls' Empire Mall, the Royal Fork Buffet is both one of South Dakota's favorite buffets as well as one of the most highly rated in the region.
Founded in 1967 in Idaho, the Royal Fork became an instant favorite and quickly expanded to other cities around the west and midwest, including, of course, Sioux Falls.
Whether you eat in the dining room or reserve their banquet room (pictured) for a special event, you will always remember your visits to the Royal Fork.
Like nearly every business (and person) in the country, the Royal Fork - which typically serves homemade fare along a long buffet line - has been affected by the recent coronavirus outbreak. It recently re-opened with significant changes, including cafeteria-style service.
While their general layout may be changing, the Royal Fork guarantees that the buffet portion will be the only thing, citing the "same great food will be served and the same friendly staff will be there to help best serve our guests."
