Coming in at number six, Rapid City is deemed affordable for several reasons, including the number of direct flights from other major airports, the vibrant arts scene, outdoor recreation opportunities, and - of course - the famous landmarks that surround the famous SoDak city.

Admission to Mount Rushmore? Free (minus a small parking fee). Hotels and restaurants? All competitively priced! A fabulous downtown area with plenty of things to see and do? Rapid has that, too!
