After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.
There’s no doubt about it: South Carolina is home to countless incredible restaurants, but sometimes it’s hard to find a destination the entire family will enjoy because everyone has different tastes. If you struggle to decide between multiple restaurants, or you and your partner are in a constant battle of “I don’t know” when asked where you want to dine, we know just the place to visit. With six different restaurants housed in one gorgeous, modern space, this Charleston food hall has a little bit of everything — and we’re finding it impossible to stay away.
Welcome to Workshop, a fancy food court full of rotating restaurants in the heart of Charleston that will make your mouth water.
Located at Pacific Box & Crate, you will find a rotating lineup of food vendors curated by the team at Butcher and Bee here at the 10,000-square-foot destination that is Workshop.
Giving out of town chefs a short-term home here in South Carolina, up and coming vendors a brick and mortar option, and offering veteran chefs a location from which to experiment with new concepts, Workshop is one of the state’s most inventive restaurant destinations.
And it’s phenomenal for new chefs! Ranging in size from 350 to 1,500 square feet, each restaurant space comes fully equipped so aspiring chefs can move in and start cooking immediately. It’s a phenomenal space for culinary creators to experiment with new ideas or try something new as a pop-up shop in a physical space before venturing out on their own.
From Mexican favorites and burgers to sushi, Vietnamese, and classic Italian comfort food, Workshop is home to an eclectic mix of eateries sure to satisfy anyone’s taste buds. As of December 2018, you’ll even discover a coffee shop and wine bar!
In the 19 months since Workshop opened its doors — from the grown-up sandwich shop, JD Loves Cheese to Italian comfort food haven Two Fat Olives — more than twenty vendors have set up residence here.
With rustic wood touches in a light and airy space, this modern food hall looks as though it was materialized right from our favorite Food Network shows. With tables and chairs in a variety of sizes, the food hall sits 100 people inside, but you’ll also find plenty of seating outdoors.
No matter what you're craving, a trip down to Workshop absolutely must be on your agenda for 2019! Who knows, it might just become your new favorite culinary destination.
Workshop is located at 1503 King St., Charleston, SC 29405, and is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday. They are closed Tuesday. For more information about Workshop and which restaurants you’ll find there, visit their website or follow them on Facebook.
