Just when you thought Walmart couldn’t possibly offer more bang for the buck than it already does, the nationwide chain has just announced it will be hosting pop-up drive-in movie theater events at five South Carolina Walmart Supercenters. And the roll back price of this Walmart offering is absolutely nothing. The movie tickets are entirely free – but securing your ticket may take some luck.
You can't beat an old-fashioned evening of family fun — for free.
The chain announced recently that 160 Walmart Supercenters across America will host the free drive-in events and so far, five South Carolina locations have scheduled pop-up events on the calendar.
Get ready for some big name movies! On the roster are some classic blockbuster titles for kids and families like "Space Jam," "Ghostbusters," and "E.T. The Extraterrestrial."
Dates and titles will vary by location. The first South Carolina Walmart Drive-In pop-up event is slated for September 29th at the North Charleston Walmart Supercenter. (Remember, no tickets will be sold at the gate.) The website shows all tickets have been claimed for this first event.

Here's how it works: A limited number of tickets will be available at each location (based on the number of parking spots) and must be requested online. Only one ticket is required per car, and not per person. You can bring as many people as there are seat belts for in your car.
The Walmart Drive-In website currently shows that all tickets have been claimed for the events listed; however, it also says just below that to 'check back soon for added events.'
Social distancing rules will be enforced. Plan to have a mask for everyone in the car as it will be required at any time you are out of your vehicle. You'll also need to have an FM radio receiver to hear the audio for the movie (your car's FM radio will be fine).
To be among the first to hear about newly listed upcoming events at the Walmart Drive-In, give the pop-up drive-in’s Facebook page a follow, add them on Twitter and Instagram, or sign up for their weekly newsletter. Learn more about the event here.
Are you among any of those who’ve secured tickets already? We’d love to know how it feels to see a free drive-in movie at this pop-up event!
