What could be more fun than visiting a farm with acres and acres of fresh fruit and the adventure of picking your own to bring home and fill the refrigerator or freezer? At The Happy Berry in Six Mile, South Carolina, there is a wide array of berries and fruit with a rotating list of what’s ripe and ready to be picked.
In late July (now, for example), the blueberries have gone wild, with a bounty ready to go home with whoever picks them.
If you've never been to The Happy Berry, prepare for a bit of walking. There are acres of fruit vines and plants to peruse as you pick your own fresh finds to bring home.
Other fruit available throughout the growing season includes grapes, muscadines, and Razzmatazz grapes. Refer to the website for u-pick dates. In late July, seedless table grapes are in u-pick seasaon.
And blackberry season is always an anticipated time of year for those who love to make homemade preserves. The farm is nearing the end of blackberry season but the website says they are still available!
Of course, if you prefer to purchase any of the fruits in containers and already picked, you can find them in the fruit stand at The Happy Berry, along with preserves and other goodies.
Mark your calendar now for fresh blueberries, table grapes, and blackberries, and for figs on August 1. And then hit the road for a fun adventure at The Happy Berry.
