For thrills and spills, you can’t beat a fun-filled day at a water park in South Carolina when the temperatures soar. The Palmetto State has many water parks and splash pads where you can cool off on a hot day – but none of them have a series of water slides quite like the following park. Stepping off the landing and onto this water slide means you’ll soon be zipping through curves and swerves and falling no less than 100 feet at high speeds before reaching the bottom.
In fact, it's at the ONLY beachfront water park in the state. And if you guessed this is Myrtle Beach, then you're absolutely correct! The water park is adjacent to the iconic Family Kingdom Amusement Park, which also owns this park called Splashes Oceanfront Water Park.

Like its companion amusement park across the street, this park has been around for quite some time.
Family Kingdom purchased the park more than 20 years ago and now, if you choose, you can purchase a combo ticket to get into both parks in one day. Or, you can simply elect to spend all day at Splashes Oceanfront Water Park. The park is home to a host of water attractions, including a 425-foot lazy river with waterfalls, speed slides, a splash pad, and the tallest water slide in South Carolina. Looking at the bottom left hand corner of this photo, you can see a set of stairs captured at approximately the halfway point of the long climb to the slide's platform.
Known as The Flumes, the slide is both intimidating and exhilarating on the first trip down. The slide launch holds many eager visitors awaiting another turn on this exceptional water slide.
Riders can go down one at a time, or with a double tube, two at at time. As with anything pertaining to gravity... two at time means you'll go much, much faster than going down the slide alone!
While you wait for your next trip down the state's tallest water slide, you can admire the unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean and Myrtle Beach.
One little-known advantage of this water park over others is that you only pay if you ride. In other words, if you're not participating in the park's attractions of swimming in the pools, riding the slides/flumes, or lazy river, then you don't have to pay to get in the park as long as you accompany a paying visitor. This is a huge advantage for those family members who would rather simply watch all of the action.
Splashes Oceanfront Water Park is definitely fun for the entire family.
