The scenic trail is rated difficult - and for good reason. Wear comfortable, sturdy hiking shoes and bring plenty of water and snacks, because you'll predominately climb uphill for the first part of the hike.
In fact, the trail ascends 2,000 feet, which includes some stairs, to the mountain's summit. Those who have hiked the trail warn that it is difficult and even strenuous, but the views are well worth the effort.
Along the trail, you'll come across several small waterfalls, perfect for stopping, snapping a few pictures, and catching your breath. Your best bet for a successful hike is to take your time.
The trail to the summit promises an abundance of natural beauty, too, from colorful wildflowers to local wildlife. You might even catch a glimpse of a bear or two.
Admission to Table Rock State Park is, as of September 2020, $6 per person. Seniors 65 and older pay $3.75. Kiddos six to 15 years have an admission fee of $3.50.
