Are you in need of a great bike ride through Greenville and beyond? The Swamp Rabbit Trail gives you 22 miles of incredible trails that take you past a lake, alongside a river, and past waterfalls. Break this trail up into many rides, or spend a whole day of exploring this wonderful path.
There’s a family friendly trail in Greenville, South Carolina that’s great for a bike ride.
Explore 22 miles of mostly paved road that brings you through some of the prettiest country in the area. You’ll pass by a lake, rivers, and even downtown Greenville.
The trail follows the bed of a former railroad, nicknamed after the swamp rabbits of the area.
This is a great spot to ride if you want to stop at lunch at one of the great downtown eateries. There’s also tons to explore in this park area if you have kids, and the trail around here tends to be more crowded.
Some areas of the trail offer an observation deck to stop and gaze at the nearby wetlands, or waterfalls.
There are even areas along the way that offer tennis or volleyball courts. A favorite of many is to stop off at the Swamp Rabbit Cafe for a bite to eat before continuing on your ride!
There’s not much of an incline throughout the trail, which makes it good for all skill levels.
Remember to follow the rules of etiquette if you’re on the trail, because it's a popular ride that can be very busy. Stay to the right, and alert the person in front of you if you’re going to pass them.
