South Carolina’s highest mountain peak is found high atop Sassafras Mountain and the views from the summit are unbeatable. From this elevation of 3,553 feet above sea level, the tower on top of Sassafras Mountain doles out 360-degree views to anyone who hikes the few hundred yards from the parking area to the tower’s observation deck, which adds another 14 feet to the final elevation.
