Nestled into the landscape in upstate South Carolina is an urban oasis: the South Carolina Botanical Garden. Its 295 acres are in the heart of Clemson and possibly one of the last great things you can experience in the state – without spending a dime (not even for parking!). Considered by many to be one of the best botanical gardens in South Carolina, once you set foot inside you are sure to agree too. We love the location and the fancy displays of artistic beauty found in natural arrangements. Enjoy the trip to this glorious garden.
Welcome to the South Carolina Botanical Garden, where Carolina fans will learn that not ALL of the flowers and blooms here are of the orange variety.
If you've yet to make a voyage to visit this amazing cultivated space filled with gardens, walking and hiking trails, and more, then you're in for a multi-sensory treat.
The many nature trails, hiking paths, and walkways lead to woodland escapes, past ponds, and more. The South Carolina Botanical Garden Arboretum Trail will allow you to see most of what you can find in the garden. There are plenty of things to see and do on this 2-mile loop like the peaceful pond, a historical cabin, and even a caboose.
The one shown here leads to/from the Visitor's Center, see in the distance inside the red brick house.
