South Carolina has been home for AnneMarie since 2001. Her favorite part of the state is Lake Jocassee. An App State alumna, it's always the mountains; the lake bonus makes it heavenly. When not writing about the state, she may be spending time with family, relaxing by the pool, or out somewhere enjoying nature.
With a population of approximately 130, Pawleys Island is one of South Carolina’s smallest and most charming towns. It’s one of the oldest summer resorts on the east coast, situated 70 miles north of Charleston and 25 miles south of Myrtle Beach. And tucked away in this tiny town just so happens to be one of the nicest restaurants in America known as Frank’s and Frank’s Outback, one of the best small town restaurants in South Carolina.
Frank’s and Frank’s Outback Restaurant are located on Ocean Highway, the main road through Pawleys Island.
It’s actually two restaurants in one location with four dining venues and four bars to choose from, reputed in the area as setting the standard through the years for fine dining.
The atmosphere at Frank's and Frank's Outback Restaurant cannot be beat and has been described as relaxed and feeling like a holiday. Some find the main restaurant venue to be quieter and more intimate.

If you want to have a choice of dining venue, it’s highly recommended that you make a reservation! In fact, it's best to plan ahead and reserve your table even a few days in advance to be sure you're able to get a table.
Asparagus and Shrimp Remoulade Salad featuring arugula, iceberg lettuce, and lemon garlic olive oil was another prior special offering. The restaurant menu changes seasonally and is globally-inspired.
Of course, if cheesecake isn’t your thing there are other options. Here we have fresh, warm blueberry cobbler made with sweet, local blueberries from Winyah Blueberry Farms. So yummy!
The warm Layered Caramel Cake is a 14-layer cake topped with vanilla ice cream and is a customer favorite, said to be "to-die-for" in Frank's and Frank's Outback reviews online.
Our recommendation is to order something from the small plates section of the menu or take part of your entree home with you to enjoy again later if necessary so that you don't miss out on these incredible dessert options.
