But what many don't realize is there is a full city park that runs parallel to Shem Creek.

The current park, which is ADA compliant, includes 2,200 feet of roomy boardwalk that doles out dreamy marsh and creek views as you make your way to the end.

On the one side of the boardwalk, you'll find the ever-popular Shem Creek and all the activity generated by the patrons of the waterfront restaurants and businesses. And on the other... peaceful sweeping views with blues and greens brighter than you probably can imagine.

From the end of the boardwalk, at almost the junction of Shem Creek and Charleston Harbor, you'll get an upfront seat for views of Fort Sumter and the famous Cooper River Bridge, known as The Rav. Time it right, and you could also get to photograph a sunset just like this one.

Shem Creek Park is located at Shrimp Boat Ln., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. The park is open daily from 5 a.m. to midnight. Admission and parking are free. There are 35 dedicated vehicle spots for guests of the park.
