Many ghostly hauntings are found all over South Carolina. Perhaps one of the most notable haunted cities is Charleston.
Located across the street from White Point Gardens in the area commonly referred to as “The Battery” there’s a gargantuan old private residence that was long ago converted into an inn. Not just any inn, but the most haunted house inn in South Carolina.
Today the giant house standing at 20 South Battery is known as The Battery House Inn. It's widely known as being super haunted.
And why not? It's in a city that is crawling with ghosts. The property where Battery Carriage House Inn sits once had a first row seat for the public hangings that took place in the beautiful park only steps away from the inn. White Point Gardens is also widely accepted as haunted.

So just how creepy are the ghosts are the Battery Carriage House Inn?

In this room, a couple once reported seeing a presence moving around the room. On another occasion the same couple experienced golden orbs and if that's not enough, the man's cell phone was turned off but it kept buzzing like it was on vibrate and someone was calling. But it was off. This is called "room three."
Some people actually believe Charleston is so old and has suffered turmoil on so many occasions that there's a possibility of there being as many ghosts on the Peninsula as there are residents!
Guests at The Battery Carriage House Inn have experienced ghostly occurrences in several places of the inn. However, it's the bedrooms that seem to have the most activity.

"Room Eight" is especially active. One guest vividly described to the inn owners a faceless torso standing over his bed in the middle of the night.

In spite of the paranormal experiences here at the Battery Carriage House Inn, it really is a magnificent and beautiful property. But...there are ghosts!
Possibly the creepiest ghostly experiences reported here are in "Room Ten," where more than one guest has reported seeing a figure of a man pass through the door and then he laid down on the bed next to them!
