You look outside and the sun is shining so brilliantly, the sky is clear and blue and you can’t wait to get out there and enjoy it all. You hum to yourself as you get dressed, get all your gear ready for the day, and then you step outside and you’re hit full face with what feels like the burning breath of a dragon. Immediately your hair falls flat, your clothes stick to your skin, and you start to feel drips of sweat falling to your shoulders all the while the sun feels as if it is baking your skin as if you were a broiling ham.
Yes, we have all been there. South Carolina summers can be harsh to say the least. Sweltering is a nice word to use for the weather. So, I have put together 10 things that may take a bit of the sting out of that hot summer day when you want to get out of the house, but you don’t want to end up as fried bacon.

Many people say the air is different on the coast as if there is less humidity. Must be all that water. Still, if you decide to do this on the hottest of summer days don't forget your sunblock and an umbrella.

For every town, I'm sure you can find at least one or two antique shops and more than a handful of specialty boutiques. It's always so much fun to go from shop to shop and look at all the unique pieces they have in inventory.
There are many here in South Carolina and who doesn't love to shop? Even if you're just window shopping, a mall or outlet is a really cool (no pun intended) way to get out of the sun for a few hours.
