Few places to eat in South Carolina can boast of a sunset view quite like the following restaurant located on Mount Pleasant’s famous restaurant row, commonly referred to as Shem Creek. And while, yes, there are other eateries located on this busy riverfront that have the same view, this one is new (opened early in 2018) and definitely worth a visit, if you haven’t already discovered the goodness.
Saltwater Cowboys is locally owned and operated and doles out a gushingly sappy sunset view that includes the Ravenel Bridge and a smattering of boats on either side of the creek.
Cowboys quickly established its place in the BBQ game on Shem Creek. You can't go wrong (and won't go hungry) with any of their BBQ selections. With pulled pork, smoked sausage, and baby back ribs anchoring the BBQ menu, there are plenty of options from which to choose.
If seafood is more on your mind, you know you'll get it here. From shrimp to flounder, oysters and more, the variety is wide (and so are the plates, which are actually trays).
Saltwater Cowboys is located at 130 Mill St., Mt Pleasant, SC 29464. It’s open seven days a week. The hours are Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Friday/Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Learn more and see the live music calendar on their official website.
