Two years ago, on the night of February 14, 2014 (Valentine’s Day), people all over South Carolina literally felt the earth move under their feet. News outlets around the Palmetto State soon after began reporting the second-strongest earthquake to hit SC since 1950. The official report placed a confirmation of an earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale in Edgefield, SC. It was no crisis of any means, but it did turn heads.
2016 is already looking SO GOOD in the Palmetto State that we believe we can all make the earth move this Valentine’s Day completely on our own. No earthquakes needed this year.
Here are some great visual aids and idea starters for your great big, earthquake-free, Valentine’s Day in South Carolina.
Valentine's Day is on Sunday this year. You could plan a nice brunch at a restaurant with a great view. Here are a couple of suggestions:
The Sea Captain's House in Myrtle Beach has a great brunch and you'll enjoy views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Hudson's Seafood House on the Docks in Hilton Head serves up brunch every Sunday. And if it's too cold on the docks there is also inside seating available. This is another great place for brunch with a view!
In Charleston, pick your spot poolside on Valentine's Day for the Southeastern Wildlife Expo's Dock Dogs competition at Brittlebank Park. You'll have the beautiful Ashley River as your backdrop. More info
