When it comes to family fun, sometimes a good old-fashioned day at the lake is exactly what we all need. If you didn’t grow up visiting a nearby lake that was all set up for summer fun with slides, dive platforms, and diving boards, then it’s never too late for the fun to begin! Check out this water park in South Carolina that’s a sure bet for summertime fun – no matter your age.
Richardson's Lake Water Park and Outdoor Recreation Area is located in Warrenville, approximately 10 miles west of Aiken.
This natural lake is a time-honored, hidden favorite watering hole of the locals and has a white sand bottom and crystal-clear water making it possible to see the bottom in places. But it's not your ordinary water park.
Richardson's isn't a typical water park. The slides are a combination of water slides... and an epic playground slide (sans water to help your ride) that makes you feel like you've discovered a secret playground set in the water.
Forgot your float or chair? Richardson's has them for rent, but there are limited numbers. (So don't forget them on purpose.) You can also rent an umbrella if you prefer to spend some time on the sandy shore, relaxing and watching the activity.
And there are picnic shelters available on a first-come, first-served basis for $45/day so you can fire up a grill and cook a hearty lunch. If you don't feel like cooking, then Richardson's has a full concessions stand with a variety of foods.
When you’re ready for a wholesome day of fun in the sun at a family-friendly water park, head to Richardson’s Lake Water Park in Warrenville! Old-fashioned family fun also comes with an old-fashioned price. Park entrance costs a mere $8 for ages 13 and up, $6 for ages 3-12, and children 2 and under get in for free. It’s open Monday – Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. To learn more, check out their official website or follow their Facebook page.
