Whether fall makes you think of candied apples, apple cider and donuts, pumpkin-spiced lattes or just the notion of cooler weather, the season is also known for all of the festivities it ushers in to small communities around the state. This year marks the 40th annual Pumpkintown Pumpkin Festival, and you’ll want to clear your calendar for this Saturday, October 13, 2018, so you can get in on the fun!
Most people don't realize the small community of Pumpkintown was settled long before the Revolutionary War and got its name from the large pumpkins covering the nearby Oolenoy River.
We can’t think of a more appropriate place for a pumpkin festival than Pumpkintown, can you? The festival takes place this Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Oolenoy Community Building at 5298 SC-135, Pickens, SC. For more information, see the festival’s Facebook page.
