South Carolina has been home for AnneMarie since 2001. Her favorite part of the state is Lake Jocassee. An App State alumna, it's always the mountains; the lake bonus makes it heavenly. When not writing about the state, she may be spending time with family, relaxing by the pool, or out somewhere enjoying nature.
The question for South Carolina beach bums is not “Will we go to the beach today?” – rather, “To which beach shall we go?” There are so many tempting options, which can result in quite a conundrum. And not only do we have an amazing coastline, but we also have some other beaches that are impressive, too. In fact, about 180 miles from the coast, there’s a pristine inland beach in South Carolina that’s an incredible spot for a beach day.
Ebenezer Park Beach is located in Rock Hill on the shores of Lake Wylie and is a part of Ebenezer Park on Boatshore Road. The park underwent a $4.6-million renovation from 2019-2021 when the inland beach space was doubled in size.
The swimming area at this Rock Hill beach is open year-round for swim at your own risk, as there are no lifeguards on duty. Water shoes and life jackets are recommended. The swimming area is enclosed by the circular pier, and no swimming is permitted outside of the designated swim area.
There's a camping area with 66 campsites with water, sewer, electric, a fire ring, and a picnic table. Reservations can be made 13 months in advance, and the park is open year-round. Tents are restricted to certain sites, and the park does not offer primitive camping at this time.
