Calling all cat lovers – and music and art enthusiasts! There’s a cat cafe and music lounge in South Carolina that’s purr-fect for an outing any time of the day or evening. Take everything you know (or think you know) about cat cafes and toss it out the door. There’s quite frankly no other cat cafe in the world like Greenville’s Organic Cat Cafe and Listening Lounge.
Found right on Main Street in Greenville's West End, Organic Cat Cafe and Listening Lounge is more than a place to play with cats, or ultimately adopt of furry friend to become a member of your family...
It's a creative healing sanctuary filled with many four-legged shamans (don't worry, they're not really shamans). It's a place where you can literally find yourself in a pile of friendly kitties, all eager to help soothe your soul and heal your spirits.
The space Organic Cat Cafe occupies is enormous, so there is plenty of room for cats and kittens to roam and play. All the added room also lends itself nicely to special activities, like ping pong that's offered every Thursday night. Want to drive a cat insane with play? Send a ball back and forth across a ping pong table repeatedly and you'll have won — even if you lose at ping pong!
OCC also has a bar with beer, wine, hard seltzer, and hard cider. You can also ask for the ever-popular Meowmosa, available in three varieties. (See a full menu here.)
Aside from cats, ping pong, and beer/wine, there are plenty of special activities you can get involved with at OCC. Visitors can sign up for a yoga class, and more.
Several yoga classes are offered throughout the week and a meditation class is available every Sunday night.
And on special evenings, the Listening Lounge hosts DJs who spin cat-lovin' music that is especially soothing. Sample some of the incredibly healing music at this link.
From DJ parties, to healing cat music throughout the day, special events that bring people together, food and beer/wine — and the amazing Meowmosas, this is one cat cafe that is worth so much more than the mere $9 visitors pay to enter (stay as long as you like, too!). Special events may require an added fee.
Most cat cafes charge a hefty entry fee, but not Organic Cat Cafe. Just pay a $9 cover at the door and then cuddle with the kitties for as long as you like; there are no time limits. If you’d like to book one of the upcoming special events, use this link from the official website for the cafe. You can also follow along on Facebook to get updates when new events are added.
Organic Cat Cafe and Listening Lounge is open seven days per week. The hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11:11 a.m. to 11:11 p.m., Sunday from 3:03 p.m. to 9:09 p.m., and Monday from 11:11 a.m. to 9:09 p.m. Reservations aren’t required, but if you’re going to be traveling to this catopia and want to be assured there’s a spot for you, then make a reservation after scrolling all the way down this link.
