South Carolina is no stranger to southern staples like fried chicken and biscuits and gravy. In fact, if there’s one thing you can count on while visiting South Carolina, it’s that you’re never too far away from a delicious meal. While the major cities tend to get all the love in this area, and we know there are plenty of incredible restaurants in the state’s major cities, the small towns in South Carolina are often where you’ll find the best meals of your life. There’s one little restaurant in a small town that’s serving up some of the best shrimp and grits in South Carolina, and that’s the Thomas Cafe.
With a population that hovers around 10,000 people, Georgetown is the third oldest town in South Carolina and a picture-perfect destination to spend a day exploring.
This beloved little cafe has been around for over 75 years, and it seems to only get better with age!

Thomas Cafe is one of those places where everyone knows your name, the staff knows your usual order, and you just feel like one of the family from the moment you walk in.
Take some time to admire the decor on the walls. The eclectic mix really highlights the history of both the restaurant and the town itself. It feels like a little time capsule that you get to be a part of.
