Halloween haunts each offer up their very own signature creepy vibe during the spookiest time of the year. It’s what makes it so much fun to spend your weekends from mid-September through Halloween tripping through one haunted attraction after another. Each offers a little something different and they all somehow manage to make your hair stand on end – in the best way possible. Since they’re all so very different, it’s not really fair to compare one haunted attraction to another. But, if you’re seeking the full Monty of disgusting, disturbing, and downright terrifying imagery, then look no further than Nightmare Dungeon outside of Greenville.
The old, two-story farmhouse that sets the scene for the deplorable things you may believe actually happened here provides a wretched space for some of the most gruesome things you'll ever witness.
Making your way through the horrifying things you'll see at this haunted attraction in the upstate, you may get a sense that the house is actually haunted. From the actors to the 20 different scenes and the tight, barely lit spots you'll wander through (not to mention the screams), this is one Haunted House that's not for the faint of heart.
Within the walk-through attraction, you'll witness some terrible human experiments underway. Expect to struggle to keep your dinner down in more than a few gruesome spots in the Dungeon of Lost Souls, the part of the house where the experiments take place.
Prepare to stifle your sensibilities and their desperate attempts to make you turn on your heels and run when you first enter the attraction's Tunnel of Terror. The things you'll sense, see, hear, and possibly even smell (ewwww... ) in the dark, underground tunnel may also make you lose your dinner, or at least lose your appetite for the late night snack you planned on having.
No... of course it wasn't THIS creepy, zombie ghoul wearing a clown suit (after all, this is just an actor), but THIS is precisely how we imagined that clown in the woods to look back then!
Grisly imagery, phenomenal special effects, and a REAL old, farmhouse create one of the best haunted attractions you can find among this year's selection of dreadfully hideous haunts. Have you been yet? We'd love to hear about your experience in our comments!
Nightmare Dungeon is open every night through November 3, 2019. Tickets are available at the door and are $30/person ($20/ages 10 and under). For more information, see the official website here.
Have little ones in the family that are just too small to enjoy this creepy attraction? Get tickets for this pumpkin patch train ride so their Halloween will be filled with fun, too!
