Longing for a family experience like those found among the memories of your own youth? From time-honored eateries to old-fashioned general stores, South Carolina still has a few places where you can step into the less complicated world found in a bygone era.
Virtually everywhere in America, drive-in movies are becoming a thing of the past. At least three still exist in South Carolina — including the Monetta Drive-In.
Also known as The Big Mo', it's celebrating 20 years this season and has grown to three fields with three huge screens and three double features (for the price of one) every week.
Each weekend, the big fields at the Big Mo' come alive when families come together for some great old-fashioned fun.
People talk to one another. They meet new people or catch up with old friends.

During nights with special events (think July 4th and Halloween), visitors participate in planned parades and more before settling in for the big double feature.
For starters, people use their own radio now. Some use the one in their car; others, who may want to sit somewhere outside their vehicle, bring their own receiver that can pick up an FM channel.
