There is much to be said about the feelings you have when standing at the base of a majestic, tall waterfall after an adventurous hike through the countryside. South Carolina’s Oconee County has more than 150 waterfalls to discover and each one is so very different from the next. Lee Falls, in the northwestern part of the county, for instance, is lush and green and is a sight to behold.
The waterfall drops an impressive 75 feet over a near 90-degree fall before it begins to cascade over a beautiful series of moss-covered rocks below.
From here, you'll walk over a few open fields (in some seasons they may be more overgrown than as seen in this photo). You'll also get your feet wet on this hike when you're forced to travel through a few small water crossings.
Once past the fields and the streams, you'll be in the forest for the final leg of the hike, which includes navigating through (and over!) some small boulders.
But the end game for this somewhat challenging trail is to find yourself standing at the base of this lush, green, moss-covered waterfall that feels like you're in paradise. So beautiful!
