South Carolina’s State Parks offer a wide range of activities, including beach-side camping, trails and mountaintop overlooks with never-ending views, and days – even weeks – of getting back to nature with a little much needed R&R. It may be somewhat accurate to surmise that some of our state parks garner more attention than others, but that doesn’t mean the lesser-known parks deserve less attention; the truth is quite the opposite. Case in point: Kings Mountain State Park, located in Blacksburg.

This little border park (because it's located so near the NC/SC border) has much to do and admire, including nearly 7,000 acres of outdoor recreation. Two lakes provide water access for fishing and boating. Lakeside picnic areas dole out gorgeous water views while you devour the goodies from your picnic basket.
