We can’t think of another restaurant (ever) that’s quite as eclectic and offers food as delicious as Ink N Ivy in Charleston. After getting a look at the interior here, you may come for the atmosphere and the decor (first and foremost) but STAY for the food and drink. Currently, there are three locations in the Ink N Ivy brand (Charlotte, Greenville, Charleston) but the Charleston location is clearly the most awe-inspiring in terms of location and decor.
It's located on upper King Street in a majestic old building occupied for decades by a pawn shop.
After much renovation, the now three-story eatery is brimming with inky artwork any tattoo lover would be proud to include in a sleeve or elsewhere. The entrance to Ink N Ivy is shown here; its arched ceiling only breaks the ice for the delightful sight visitors encounter just inside the front door.
It's an unusual mixture of deco meets anything goes. And to be quite honest, the mixture works beautifully and you'll find instant comfort and will be drawn in by its charm and intrique.

When you look more closely, you'll begin to see all of the wall tattoos.
its eight legs are perfectly wrapped around a corner as if holding on for dear life. There are so many hidden wall tattoos here, you may not even see them all in one trip.
The main dining area is filled with cushy seating covered in a bright butterscotch hue undeneath a fully-exposed beam ceiling. More original brick walls are found in this room as well as another wall tattoo masterpiece — this one is painted on what's made to look like a chalkboard.
You won't find stuffy dress codes, or a single nuance of pretentiousness within the place. Ink N Ivy welcomes everyone (including you) just the way you are.
Ready to check it out? If you're not exactly a person who enjoys the confusing and sometimes chaotic streets in downtown Charleston, then you'll be very pleased to learn that Ink N Ivy is above the chaos.
That is to say, they are on upper King Street, where the road has traffic traveling in both directions and plenty of parking is available on the street. What are you waiting for? It's like visiting a super cool art gallery with delicious food!
