This is what happens every year with the Hot Air Affair in Anderson County, South Carolina. It’s a hot air balloon festival with all proceeds going to the Cancer Association of Anderson!

Each year since 2017, people have gathered in Anderson County to see bright, colorful hot air balloons take flight while supporting the fight against cancer.

In 2023, the event joins the Celebrate Anderson event over Labor Day weekend at the Anderson Civic Center balloon launch field.

There are over 20 hot air balloons that are expected to participate in the event, so you'll see a nice variety of designs and colors. This one, for example, is called Stairway to Heaven, owned by Rick Ferrall from Lawrenceville, Georgia.

And one of the people heavily involved in the hot air balloon arena, Duane Clark, a balloon pilot who competed in many national championships and mentored other balloonists, unfortunately passed away from cancer in 2006.
