Did you know South Carolina is the second largest peach producer in the country (behind California)? It’s true. And while our neighboring friends in Georgia lay claim to the moniker of the Peach State, peaches are the very essence of South Carolina. So it stands to reason we’d have a peach festival (or four) each and every year to celebrate the sweet goodness of not only the harvest season but also the beautiful period when the peach trees all over the state paint the landscape with bright blooms.
