When a restaurant can stand the test of time, you know it’s worth a road trip from any corner of the state. Villa Tronco has served delicious Italian food for over 80 years, making it the oldest restaurant in South Carolina. Whether you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion or just try something new, this particular incredible eatery is worth every extra mile you’ll drive to get here. Let’s take a closer look at what makes Villa Tronco so special:
You’ll find Villa Tronco in South Carolina’s capital city, Columbia.
The family-owned and operated restaurant is now in its fourth generation. What started as a fruit stand during WWII blossomed into the Italian Restaurant after soldiers with Italian heritage that were stationed at nearby Fort Jackson were homesick for their mother’s cooking. Sadie began making spaghetti and meatballs for them and as the demand increased, the business expanded.
