It’s not like it’s a secret or anything. The world has known about the rubble since the plane crashed in 1943. It crashed near the runway during training, and then it was towed to its present location so it would be out of the way.

Curiously, even though the remains of the crash are obscured by the woodsy area, there is a marker on the site explaining about the curious object in the woods. We're thinking that was probably a wise choice on someone's part!
