It’s safe to say that food is a passion we all share. Regardless of our different preferences for anything else in life, we all have to eat and we’re all pretty serious about our food. That being said, “dining out” in South Carolina has never been a more literal phrase than at this quirky little restaurant with delicious food on Folly Beach.
That's because, in spite of the amply-sized building on which the two street-facing signs are located for Chico Feo on Folly Beach...
You may think this is an unconventional dining room, and well, you'd be correct! But just wait until you see the food! Your entire face will blossom into a human rendition of that annoying smiling emoji with two red hearts for eyes.
Chico Feo's menu is small (the regular menu has but eight items) but the food is oh-so delish. The selections focus on West Indies and Caribbean fare and feature everything from tacos to noodle bowls, pho and more.
If you think you're just not into Cuban or Caribbean food... then you may want to think again. This bowl of Cuban beans and rice topped off with tomatoes, purple onion and cilantro is a fresh and delicious choice for any season, especially summer.
When you go, be sure someone in your party orders the Bun Cha. This legendary dish comes with a bowl of velvety smoked pork broth, house-made sausage, pork belly, fresh turnip greens and vermicelli.
If you've ever been to Folly Beach then you know there aren't many conventional eating establishments on this trendy island. And this one, which lacks an indoor dining room, has some flavorful dishes you won't want to miss!
