Cheese lovers rejoice… especially if you’ve ever wanted to make your own homemade cheese. While there are plenty of farms in South Carolina where you can buy farm-made cheese, there are few that offer a cheese making class. Set aside some time in the coming months to head to Jeremiah Farm and Goat Dairy for a class called Three Cheeses in Three Hours. You’ll learn the ropes from the dairy’s owner and you can even purchase cheese making supplies right on the farm. You’ll be making your own cheese in no time after taking this fun class.
Jeremiah Farms offers two cheese making classes: three kinds of cheese in three hours or, if you want a shorter class, then take the two cheese class.
Take a scenic ride out to Johns Island where towering live oak trees dot the landscape — even on the farm — and discover a goat dairy that offers a variety first-hand farm experiences.
Jeremiah Farm and Goat Dairy is a fun place for the whole family to visit. We suggest taking the Full Circle Tour that features a tour of the gardens, meeting the goats and other farm animals, milking a goat (optional, of course), and sampling the cheese made right on the farm.
Jeremiah Farms offers cheese making classes featuring two or three cheeses in each class. The cheeses featured will be selected from Mozzarella, Whole Milk Ricotta, Queso Fresco, or Curried Paneer.
The classes cost $35 per person for the two cheese class and $45 per person for the three cheese class. The farm also offers classes for learning to make your own kefir, yogurt, and kombucha.
