And it’s oh, so good! The jam here is homemade. You can also get strawberry jam with strawberries sourced from the nearby Cottle Strawberry Farm.
You'll find it's nothing fancy inside this hole-in-the-wall eatery either, but the service is friendly and the food outstanding.
You probably would never guess, but the most-searched-for breakfast food in South Carolina is .... toast! As a pretty basic breakfast item, you can get both regular and French toast at Hwy 378 Diner, and the French toast is very good.
It wouldn't be South Carolina without Shrimp and Grits, which can be ordered at this spot "when available". But if you can catch them on one of those days, they are amazing, the grits having a wonderful creamy consistency!
There's a good variety of other options for lunch on the menu as well as daily specials available if you're not in the breakfast-all-day mood. The diner is open for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays.
Hwy 378 Diner is located in close proximity to Fort Jackson, Shaw Air Force Base, and Congaree National Park, which is worth a visit if you've never been before. It's nice to see the support for military when you pay for your meal.
