The burger scene in South Carolina includes everything from griddle-fried to flame grilled. If you’re a person who occasionally craves a burger of epic proportions (you know who you are) then we’ve found the perfect restaurant where you can get your burger on and leave with a satisfied appetite. Take a look below and see if you agree: these burgers are ridiculous – and you’ll want to try them!
At first glance, the burgers at Sesame Burgers & Beer seem pretty legit. They're on nice buns, look hand-patted and have colorful toppings.
But at first glance, you don't know the half of it. To begin with, the beef at this burger joint is all hormone free and ground in-house. What's more, the condiments are all homemade — even the ketchup!
You may notice a pattern in these photos: each burger is getting progressively higher stacked with toppings. This one is called the Brunch Burger. There's a fried egg on there, just above the bacon and under the top of the bun.
At Sesame Burgers, no burger concept is too absurd to add to the daily specials menu.
If they can dream it, they'll make it — no matter how piled high that burger is in the end.
Like this one, for instance. They start with that hand-patted angus beef burger and add grilled andouille sausage, jalapeno-blue cheese spread, fried cherry peppers, scallion, and habanero hot sauce on a toasted sesame seed bun — and the result is outrageously good.
No idea is too preposterous for the specials menu. This colorful creation features a ginger and soy infused all natural beef patty topped with tempura fried shrimp, house-made yum-yum sauce, grilled kimchi, twice fried rice and sweet carrot-shiitake duxelle. You may need a forklift to get it to your table though.
If you love fries with your burger, then why not just put them ON the sandwich? This burger features bourbon-jalapeno glaze, chili cheese fries, five cheese sauce, scallions, bacon, and chipotle cream. Wow!
Sesame Burgers & Beer has a family-friendly atmosphere and takes the all-American burger to a new level with creations you've probably never imagined in your wildest burger dreams.
They have three locations in the Charleston area: 2070 Sam Rittenberg Blvd., 675 East Johnnie Dodds Blvd., Mt Pleasant, and 4726 Spruill Ave., N. Charleston. They're open Sunday through Thursday from 11-9, and Friday/Saturday from 11-10. Find out more on their
