Truth be told, if a fill up is all you’re expecting when you pull up to the pumps at this Eastover gas station, then you’re going to be pleasantly surprised if you go inside this old-timey general store located just east of Columbia.
Folks who have been there rave not only about the merchandise Mr. Bunky's keeps in stock, but also about the food found in this nostalgic establishment.
No matter what you can think of that you may need, you're nearly guaranteed to find it at Mr. Bunky's. Some folks even find things they didn't know they needed. It's a pretty amazing general store — the likes of which you just don't see anymore.
From groceries, to hardware, feed and seed and even a full-service butcher counter, this Midlands general store and gas station is a one-stop shop for everything from head-to-toe on your list. And then...
There is the most succulent, crispy, tender and tasty fried chicken you'll ever find. You can order it from the menu (as in "to go") or belly up to the best country cookin' buffet in these parts and dig in.
Bunky's has been serving up their famous fried chicken since 1981.
The restaurant inside the store is open seven days a week for breakfast from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and for lunch and dinner from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. — except on Sundays, when they close at 3:00 p.m.
