South Carolina is known for many things, and having the best BBQ is just one of them. There are endless restaurants peppered throughout the Palmetto State boasting that they have the best BBQ in South Carolina, but this one restaurant, in particular, gets our vote. It’s no surprise that the locals love this tiny South Carolina restaurant, and after one bite, you’ll fall in love, too. Let’s check it out.
Tucked away in the tiny town of Hemingway lies an unassuming building that locals just can’t get enough of.
When Ella and Roosevelt Scott opened Scott’s BBQ in 1972, they had no idea they would become a culinary landmark for delicious BBQ in South Carolina.
This family owned and operated business has certainly stood the test of time, earning the loyalty of both locals and those further away who are more than willing to make the drive over to Hemingway to get their hands on this tasty BBQ.
You’ll want to arrive early, because there’s typically a long line of hungry people waiting to get their hands on some juicy BBQ.
And their patience pays off, because this is some of the best pulled pork you’ve ever tasted.
What makes Scott’s stand out from the rest is their signature BBQ sauce. This spicy vinegar and pepper sauce will knock your socks off. It’s that good.
