Perhaps it’s a stretch to say that BBQ is the most popular kind of food in the Palmetto State, but it’s an easy top 5, don’t you think? South Carolina has no shortage of delicious BBQ cooked in a variety of ways – from pit-cooked, to grill mastered – and they’re all delicious! And the best part? You don’t have to be an self-proclaimed BBQ enthusiast to seek out a new BBQ joint when you’re traveling! Check out the one below, and then put it on your bucket list for the next time you’re passing through. You won’t be disappointed.
The BBQ Barn, located in North Augusta, is a favorite among locals in both South Carolina and across the Savannah River in Georgia.
With just one look at the mouthwatering BBQ found here, it's easy to see why it should be on your bucket list. The savory meats (pork, turkey, and chicken) are cooked to perfection every time!
You'll get your order naked, and then be able to select from one of the five regional sauces available (including Georgia Red, which isn't even served in some parts of the state.)
... then check out the menu board above, and order up all you think your tummy can hold. (Don't worry if there's too much! The nice thing about BBQ is that it heats up perfectly when you're having leftovers.)
The menu includes BBQ chicken, pork loin, ribs, and even turkey breast! You can't go wrong with any of them. And don't forget to try the collards, mac and cheese, and beans. You can't have BBQ without one of these signature sides.
The BBQ Barn is located at 10298 Atomic Rd., North Augusta, SC 29841. It’s open four days a week, Wednesday through Saturday. The hours are Wednesday 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Learn more and see their extensive menu on the official website!
