Train rides are so much fun. There’s just something about chugging along on the rails while enjoying the passing scenery that makes a train ride so very enjoyable. South Carolina’s only recreational passenger train offers scenic rides during the summer season and they’re as filled with charm as they are with a relaxing journey into the Piedmont region of the state.
Welcome to the South Carolina Railroad Museum, where you can ride the train every Saturday from June through September.
The caboose (seen here) is a solid choice for an indoor ride. With plentiful windows, it affords great views of the surrounding terrain while riding in a more comfortable setting.
And on some occasions, the Railroad Museum will add the coach car to the line up.
As far as we’re concerned, you can’t go wrong with a family adventure if there’s a train involved!
