South Carolina can be seen as a little Hollywood of sorts considering how many movies have been filmed here. Producers seem to love our beautiful country and I don’t blame them because we do have some of the most amazing landscapes in our pie shaped state. Here are some places in South Carolina you may recognize from famous films!
You may well remember these places above. Botany Bay was the backdrop where they held the slave camp on the beach and Cypress Gardens still holds remnants of props from the movie. However, some of the "ruins" are now gone and there is less there than in the picture above, but you can still tell where it was.
Boone Hall Plantation, which I'm sure everyone in South Carolina knows, was used as the Hamilton's summer home. Remember the restaurant where Noah looked through the window and saw Allie dining with her fiancé ? That place was none other than High Cotton of Charleston, SC. Yes, you can go there and dine too!
South of the Border...you either hate the place, love it, or find it fun but just a bit cheesy. However! This is where one of the scenes was filmed for the movie Forces of Nature with Sandra Bullock.
Am I the only one who remembers this movie? I'm a D'Onofrio fan so it just goes that I would know this one. However, this is Parris Island and it's the place where a lot of the scenes for this movie were filmed.
I know a lot of the younger generation will not have even heard of this movie, but our beautiful Jocassee Lake and Chattooga River were used in the making of the film.
How long do you think this list would have been if I mentioned EVERY movie that was made in South Carolina?
