Halloween can be a scary holiday for kids (and even adults). Explore the lighter side of the season in Rhode Island with a trip to one coastal village that transforms into a Halloween wonderland each year. With plenty of activities for the kids, a costume parade, and not-so-spooky decorations, there’s nothing quite like a Wickford Halloween.
The historic village of Wickford is a timeless seaside locale loaded with charm. Each year it hosts Wickford Village Wicked Week to celebrate the excitement of autumn and Halloween.
The family-friendly event will take place from October 25 - October 31. Enjoy a night out with friends in the cool fall air or bring the kids for some seasonal fun.
The village is decorated to the nines with not-so-scary scarecrows displayed in front of the shops. Take a stroll and get into the spirit of the season.
A great lineup of family fun awaits. Kids can enjoy seasonal arts and crafts like pumpkin painting.
Face painters will be on hand to give the little ones a completely new look.
The Horribles Parade will take place the Sunday before Halloween. Put on your costumes and join in the fun.
The village of Wickford also provides a safe place for trick-or-treating. Shopkeepers open their doors to pass out treats to costumed visitors.
Wickford Village Wicked Week promises to be tons of spirited fun for the whole family. Keep an eye on their
Facebook page for updates and the full schedule of events.
As you’re celebrating all things Halloween this October, don’t miss out on Rhode Island’s biggest event — a glowing trail of 5,000 jack o’ lanterns.
