Spend The Day With Adorable Animals At West Place Animal Sanctuary In Tiverton, Rhode Island
Rhode Island animal lovers, rejoice. For those who haven’t heard, we’ve got a wonderful animal sanctuary right here in the Ocean State, and it’s full of farm animals and wildlife alike who, for one reason or another, need a second chance at life. There are many ways you can support the efforts of West Place Animal Sanctuary, our favorite of which is to pay them a visit.

The sanctuary was founded by Wendy Taylor, the Executive Director. Wendy, a devout animal lover, launched the organization a few years after suffering a devastating loss in which her pets were killed in a house fire, including her beloved goat, Mo.

Since its opening, the organization has helped hundreds of wildlife and dozens of farm animals each year.

It's also surrounded by 700 acres of preserve old-growth woodlands.

The tours must be pre-arranged — the sanctuary is not open to the public daily, so please do not just drop in. Private tours have a 10 person minimum and cost $12 per adult and $10 per child 12 and under.

A couple of times per year, the farm also opens up for public tours at 10 a.m. on select Saturdays. Join the mailing list to be notified of this year's dates.

Better yet, you'll learn more about what this wonderful organization does for the animals and you'll be able to help keep it going.
