For many a New Englander, nothing beats a nice, brisk stroll down the Newport Cliff Walk. This 3.5-mile walking trail is unbelievably scenic, conveniently located, and all-around amazing. Of course, it can also be crowded. And since we’re trying to avoid crowds at the moment, you can enjoy the whole Cliff Walk virtually until you can be there in person once again. Isn’t technology grand?
The Newport Cliff walk is one of Newport's top attractions and one of Rhode Island's most iconic spots.
It's a combination of paved, easy to navigate paths and unpaved rocky areas that can be tricky. In some spots, the cliffs have drops of 70 feet, which fortunately isn't anything you'll have to worry about on a virtual tour (please be cautious in person, however).
While nothing tops the smell of the ocean and the feeling of the sea breeze on your face, we're lucky to be able to travel virtually at this time.
And it won't be long before we can all gather here again.
While the Newport Cliff Walk isn’t closed to the public, in some areas it can be tough to maintain social distancing. Luckily, YouTuber SmallWorldOdyssey recorded the entire thing and compiled a video filled with Cliff Walk facts. Enjoy!
