A short 28 minutes from Prospect Terrace is Colt State Park in Bristol. This massive park is known as the "gem of the state park system," and with beautiful ocean views, forests to wander in, and an old stone bridge overlooking a pond, there's so much to be seen and appreciated at this stop.
Your longest drive of the day is a quick 45 minute jaunt from Colt State Park to Castle Hill Lighthouse in Newport. Located at the end of historic Ocean Drive, the trip there features many gorgeous Newport summer homes to gawk at before you reach your stop. You cannot see the lighthouse from the road, but there is parking at the marina and then you just have to walk along a short trail to see this beautiful specimen as well as breath taking views of the rocky cliff sides by the ocean.
