The Industrious Spirit Company Is Rhode Island's First Distillery Since Prohibition
There’s no denying that the dining scene in Providence is second to none… but did you know there’s also a new distillery in town? The Industrious Spirit Company is the first distillery to open in Rhode Island since Prohibition — and despite opening during a global pandemic, the business is thriving. Here’s why you should make this place your next cocktail spot.

The historic building was a place for fabricating steel and iron pieces for more than 150 years. It was then used for artists' studios before being converted into the distillery it is today.

Founders Manya Rubinstein, Dan Neff and Doug Randall are proud of the unique handcrafted spirits they produce.

They were serving drinks from takeout windows and postponed their big opening party indefinitely.

When the pandemic first hit, the distillery halted production for a time to produce much-needed hand sanitizer for the city of Providence. And the community was quite thankful.

This outdoor space makes it possible for visitors to drink together, eat together, and even listen to some live music.

This place was originally a maker's and artist's community, and it's impossible not to be inspired by that.

Even if you don't drink liquor, you can always pick up a gift for someone who does.
