As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Located in the historic colonial town of Westerly, Rhode Island’s Shelter Harbor Inn is a wonderful place to stay. While this property was completely renovated and revamped in 2019, its history spans centuries, and its charm is timeless. In a time when we’re all being encouraged to stick close to home, it’s the perfect time to explore our own beautiful backyard.
The Shelter Harbor Inn was originally built in 1800.
He wanted to pay homage to the original artists who inhabited the space, so he worked with his interior designer daughter and L.A.-based designer to create the magnificent inn you'll see today.

You'll still find plenty of music-themed decor throughout the inn, with some fine-art photography and African art thrown in for good measure.
Thanks to the The Shelter Harbor Inn Restaurant (also known as the SHI Restaurant) and The Conservatory, you won't go hungry. Both restaurants welcome diners of all ages.
This inn is a beautiful blend of old and new, an ideal spot for a romantic getaway or a family weekend together.
We love our small family-owned businesses here in Rhody, so it makes sense to support them by keeping our vacations local for awhile.
Are you in need of a change of scenery? Look no further. Rates for the Shelter Harbor Inn vary, but you can often get a fantastic room for under $200 per night.
