Life can get downright noisy. With everything seemingly moving at breakneck speed, it can often be difficult to find even just a few moments of quiet to relax and reflect. While a scenic hike in Rhode Island allows us to get out for a bit of solitude in nature, there’s another lesser-known spot that’s worth a visit when you want just a few minutes to yourself. Sacred Labyrinth is a bucket list-worthy hidden gem in New Shoreham, Rhode Island.
A ferry ride to Block Island holds so much promise – the opportunity to soak in the scenery, something of which we can never tire, and the golden sunshine on our faces.
Block Island attracts thousands of Rhode Islanders and visitors, especially during the summertime, for its sandy beaches and stunning natural wonders like Mohegan Bluffs. Sacred Labyrinth, a hidden gem in Rhode Island, is also worth a stop.
Set your GPS for Corn Neck Road, nestled near North Light. A stone wall runs alongside the road, and hidden near that wall are wooden stairs with “Labyrinth” written on them. Follow the red arrow.
A bench sits in the middle of the labyrinth, welcoming visitors to sit down, reflect, and drink in the spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. Feel the stress melt away as you gaze out over Sachem Pond and the ocean in the distance.
Inside you’ll find notebooks filled with the thoughts and feelings of those who visited this tranquil spot before you. Pour over them, or just glance at them, then pick one up, and write how you’re feeling – if you want.
