The Ocean State is so picturesque that there are many nature hikes worth exploring, but there is one trail in Rhode Island that feels like it takes you straight through paradise. The path is short and sweet, but the journey is one you’re unlikely to forget. Visit Rodman’s Hollow on Block Island for staggering views and so much more.
Rodman's Hollow is a magnificent 230-acre glacial out-wash plain. It treats visitors to a variety of natural stunning scenery.
Enjoy this relatively easy hike through this natural coastal paradise. The trail is just under one mile, but give yourself time to savor the delightful views.
You'll find paths lined with native trees, plants, and shrubs. Bayberry, shadbush, arrowwood, and the bushy rockrose create a natural garden like no other.
550 glass floats are hidden on the island, each is stamped, dated, and numbered. If you find one, you can keep it, but only one per person, please! You can learn more about the Glass Float Project here.
You can find Rodman's Hollow on Block Island off of Cooneymus Road. Walk down Black Rock Road and you'll see a turnstile and wooden gate that are the entrance to the trail and your journey through paradise.
