We have so many amazing restaurants in Rhode Island, it’s difficult to decide which one to choose. Looking back at 2017, we have featured quite an array of restaurants, from fine dining to clam shacks. Here we have compiled another list, our yearly restaurant must-tries in no particular order, just a few of the 2017 standouts you should check out in 2018.
1. Statesman Tavern, 31 State St., Bristol
The Statesman emulates classic taverns in Bristol over the past 250 years. Chef Chris Kleyla, the kitchen celebrates the bounty of some of the most talented growers, farmers, and fishermen in New England and beyond.
They believe in ingredient-driven cuisine of heirloom vegetables and grains paired with responsibly raised meat, poultry and freshly caught fish.
2. Massimo, 134 Atwells AveProvidence
An Italaian trattorria on Federal Hill, Massimo offers brunch, lunch, and dinner inspired by the regional cuisines of Italy.
Guests enjoy Italian creations like this Eggplant Rollitini, and locally grown organic products, hormone free meats as well as biodynamic and organic wines imported from Italy
3. Tilly's Cheesesteaks, 3711 Kingstown Rd., West Kingstown
Tilly's Cheesesteaks is Rhode Island's first and only Philly cheesesteak sandwich joint.
Fresh baked rolls and locally sourced ingredients are what makes their authentic Philly cheesesteaks so mouthwatering.
4. Boru Noodle Bar, 36 Broadway, Newport
This Asian Fusion restaurant is the only noodle bar in Newport, and is a cozy place to enjoy a bowl of delicious warm noodles.
Local and sustainable is how they roll at Boku Noodle Bar. In addition to the house ramen, enjoy Szechuan Fried Calamari, Basil Chicken Wings, and other delicious choices.
5. Rosmarin, 225A Westminster St.,Providence
The beautiful, upscale atmosphere offers Swiss-inspired food, a lounge, art gallery, and live entertainment.
The father-son team in the kitchen are originally from Switzerland and create an inspired seasonal menu with local ingredients.
6. Ella's Fine Food & Drink, 2 Tower St., Westerly
Ella's is an American restaurant featuring New England comfort with a cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Chef Jeanie Roland's nuanced, French-New American Cuisine showcases fresh from New England with dishes that are locally sourced and globally inspired.
7. Napolianos Brooklyn Pizza, 100 East St.,Cranston
You can't go wrong with Napolianos. Just look at that pizza!
8. Troop, 60 Valley St., Olneyville
If you're looking for something different, head to Olneyville and check out Troop, with a funky vibe, eats, drinks, and live music.
Enjoy revival beers, international street food, other eclectic menu items, and cocktails.
9. Bristol Oyster Bar, 448 Hope St., Bristol
Bristol Oyster Bar is the East Bay's Only Farm to Table Oyster Bar with a vibrant atmosphere. It was established by Pete Sebring, a local oyster farmer and oyster cultivation expert, and he is dedicated to offering the freshest locally sourced RI oysters and shellfish.
The raw bar is amazing, and Bristol Oyster Bar's Executive Chef, Dave Snow, prepares the freshest local seafood and incredible entrees.
10. Jahunger Restaurant, 333 Wickenden St.Providence
This Asian Fusion restaurant opened at its cozy Fox Point location in March of 2017 and is getting great reviews.
Choose from a variety of dishes like this cold chicken dish, beef in a spicy secret sauce, and Asian Stew. The scallion pancakes and lamb kavap are a must.
