Living in one of the top 5 most populated states in the US means that few remote places remain. While we do have several gorgeous parks, it’s difficult to find isolated sites where we Rhode Islanders can be truly alone with our thoughts. Lucky for us, there is one extremely remote place in Rhode Island that is as gorgeous as it is secluded. While more than 30 islands can be found in Narragansett Bay off the coast of Rhode Island, one Island stands out amongst the others as one of the most beautiful remote places.
Though most of Portsmouth is located on Aquidneck Island neighboring Middletown and Newport, Prudence Island stands disconnected in the bay with far less attractions than the rest of the town.
The main way to get access to the island is the Prudence and Bay Islands transport which departs from Bristol. The ferry has limited capacity, but offers a lovely quick ride to Prudence Island.
