As we slowly adjust back to a state of normalcy, we can safely start to enjoy some of the best things about Rhode Island living — the events and festivals.  We’re thrilled to report that our annual Quahog Week is returning for its 5th annual celebration, and this year promises to be better than ever. The official dates are May 17-23, and there are plenty of participating restaurants and markets.

Quahogs are small clams that also go by hand clams or hard-shell clams.

They are a staple in Rhode Island cuisine, and you'll find them on menus and in markets all over the state.
This festival is meant to shine light on the quahogs, the people who harvest them, and the talented local food industry that prepares them so well.

In other words, this week is the best time to try some seriously tasty clams prepared in a variety of different ways.
With over two dozen restaurants and local markets participating, it's safe to say there's something for everyone.
